Working in Central Brooklyn, I pulled and layered geo-data of flood projections, heat islands, lead pollution, redlining histories, vacancy patterns, community gardens until the map stopped describing the neighborhood and started arguing for it. The overlaps reveal what the official planning record tends to obscure: that environmental crisis, structural racism, and health inequity are not separate problems. They share a geography. Map Sampling makes that geography legible, then hands it back to the communities it belongs to.
